Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries during 1966, after he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was used to raise and lower the hoist. This mechanism greatly impressed lots of customers and hence, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, as the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, as the demand for new equipment to meet numerous applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. For instance, Genie went into production with stick booms, telehandlers, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Genie decided to secure a partner who had the same values because of the economic slump during the beginning of the 2000s, when they partnered along with Terex. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers throughout the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Because of the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be sold under the Genie brand name.
The company takes great pride in listening and taking advise from their clients. Genie has always been continually devoted to improving the quality and efficiency in addition to lessening wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering exceptional support. These are the very work disciplines which have made Genie a trusted brand over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality equipment.
The Bi-Energy and DC machines provided by Genie offers quiet operation, emission-free even in the most delicate work environments. Where the machinery must be driven significant distances, like for instance within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machine together with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms offer more horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the different aerial platforms. These machinery are ideal for limited access areas or small areas in all kinds of settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These machinery provide the drive speed and supreme traction you need to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
