Aisle Types
Lift trucks are classified due to the types of aisles they have been designed to operate in. Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are designed to turn in the aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn in the aisle. There are several aisle widths to consider with various units.
VNA or Very Narrow Aisle trucks work in less than 6 feet areas and often use particular guidance systems such as rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel within the aisles. Several various models of VNA trucks include Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are popular models in tight retail spaces and in several storage and warehouse situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks can work in aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Normally these are stand-up models such as Reach Trucks. They are usually utilized within storage facilities and warehouses.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work in aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is made to lessen operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is really big and has an 8" low step height that helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent entry and exit. The model includes polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to allow smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a floor mat and a cushioned armrest along with a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and thus more productive while limiting exhaustion.
