Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck usually goes by other names such as: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of machinery are basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
Like what the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk along with the unit while they move cargo. The Rider model however, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are great for frequent moving of loads over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are really maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and move unstable or tall loads because there are no safety cages on these models. A rider can be the right answer if you are looking for a cheap way of transporting loads from point A to point B. If though, you must move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right alternative.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece equipment made particularly for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the load and the operator in order to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are normally very narrow aisle vehicles that can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are very useful pieces of machine during physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
